Repurpose Ideas
You know that feeling when you find something amazing at Bin Chasers, but you’re not quite sure what to do with it? Maybe it’s a gorgeous frame missing its glass, a wooden crate that seems useful somehow, or a pile of fabric scraps just waiting for a project. The best finds aren’t always the ones that are perfect right away—they’re the ones that have potential. And with a little creativity, you can turn almost anything into something useful, stylish, and unique.
One of my favorite ways to repurpose finds is by using old dishes for organizing. Mismatched plates, bowls, or teacups might not work for your dinner table, but they’re perfect for keeping jewelry, loose change, or keys in one place. A decorative plate makes a beautiful bedside catch-all and small bowls are perfect for organizing office supplies. Plus, using them this way means you get to see and enjoy them every day.

Mason Jars
If you’ve ever picked up a mason jar or a glass container at a discount, you already know their potential is endless. They make great pantry organizers for dry goods, stylish vases for fresh flowers, or even DIY candle holders with just a little twine and creativity. Want to add some charm to your space? Try painting the jars or using them as hanging lanterns. You’ll be amazed at how something so simple can add so much personality to your home.
Old picture frames are another hidden gem. Even if the glass is missing or the frame is slightly worn, don’t pass them up! You can easily turn them into decorative trays by adding handles, or use them as unique bulletin boards by replacing the glass with cork or fabric. And if you love a good DIY project, try making a framed earring holder by stapling some mesh or lace across the opening. Suddenly, that random frame has a whole new purpose!
Scratched Furniture?
We’ve all come across a slightly worn-out piece of furniture that just needs a little love. If you find a scratched-up table or chair at a bargain price, don’t be afraid to give it a second chance. A quick sanding and a fresh coat of paint (or even some fun new hardware) can turn a "meh" piece into something stunning. And if you're short on space, consider repurposing furniture for different uses—an old dresser can become a TV stand, and a small side table can be transformed into a pet bed with some creative tweaks.

Wooden crates and boxes are another goldmine for repurposing. Stack a few together for instant bookshelves, mount them on the wall for rustic storage, or use one as a planter for a charming outdoor touch. If you love the farmhouse aesthetic, staining or whitewashing them can give them that cozy, lived-in feel without the high price tag.
Don’t Toss That Fabric!
Fabric scraps or old clothes might seem like clutter, but they can be turned into some amazing DIY projects. If you’ve got an old sweater you no longer wear, try making it into a cozy pillow cover. Scraps of fabric can become reusable napkins, stylish coasters, or even handmade tote bag. And if you have a collection of pretty scarves, consider using them as no-sew curtain ties or wrapping gifts in them for an eco-friendly (and gorgeous) alternative to wrapping paper.

Even the simplest items can get a second life. Tin cans might seem like something to toss in the recycling bin, but they make great organizers for pens, makeup brushes, or even small plants. A little paint or decorative paper, and they go from basic to beautiful in minutes. And if you punch a few holes in them and add a candle inside, they become charming lanterns for outdoor spaces.
At the end of the day, repurposing isn’t just about saving money (though that’s a huge bonus!). It’s about finding creative ways to make your home feel uniquely yours while keeping things functional and organized. Next time you’re shopping at Bin Chasers, take a second look at items that might not seem useful at first glance—you might just find your next favorite DIY project waiting to happen.
Happy repurposing!
